Michelle Renée Bernard’s mixed media paintings start with layers upon layers of acrylics, often scraped and sanded into, then embellished with collage, ephemera, and objects acquired at flea markets or found on the ground. Her love of the past comes through not only in the materials she uses, but in the iconography present in her work.
